Residents from Tuskegee, Alabama traveled more than 1,200 miles to join their sister community South Berwick for a traditional New England ham and bean supper at the First Parish Federated Church Friday evening. It’s all part of the Common Ground Sister City project, which looks to link one predominantly white community with a predominantly black community and begin a partnership of understanding each other’s differences through discussion and traveling to their respective towns.
